About Us

Headway Rehabilitation is a private speech therapy practice that specializes in speech, language, and cognitive services for adults, teens, and children over 4-years-old. We provide comprehensive evaluations and individualized treatment services.

Treatment is provided by Dr. Julie M. Baker, Ph.D., CCC-SLP. Dr. Baker received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Central Florida. She then earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Carolina. Dr. Baker moved to Charleston for a post-doctorate fellowship position at the Medical University of South Carolina. She has published twelve peer-reviewed scientific articles and presented at numerous conferences. Dr. Baker holds a South Carolina State Speech-Language Pathology License, as well as a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology credential from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
